It can produce similar traits, but there is no settled evidence that one TBI causes NPD. Tell the evaluator how your loved one handled empathy and conflict before the accident. Give dated examples of new behavior, and note what has not changed. A comparison across time is more useful than a label drawn from one upsetting episode.
